Bio

Dr. Vindel Kerr is an internationally recognized scholar and practitioner in the field of corporate governance. Of his 24 years’ corporate experience, he has spent 15 at the senior management level and more than a decade improving the effectiveness of corporate boards through learning and development, management consulting and advisory services. Dr. Kerr received his early grounding at Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in 1988 and worked at Jamaica Producers Group and Capital & Credit Merchant Bank Limited. Since 2014, he joined The UWI, St. Augustine Campus, Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences where he teaches Business Ethics and supervises and mentors undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Kerr is the author of the book, Effective Corporate Governance (2005); the Corporate Governance Framework for Public Bodies of Jamaica (2011); book chapters; hosted, chaired and presented papers at conferences spanning Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. He is the recipient of several prestigious academic and professional service awards and appointments, including: 2010 Scholar of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN); Fellow, Organization of American States (OAS); Chairman, Jamaica 4-H Clubs; Deputy Chairman, College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE), Jamaica; Director of Heart TRUST/NTA and Planning Institute of Jamaica and a Nominee Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He earned a Doctorate in Business Administration (Corporate Governance and Public Policy) from the University of Manchester, Manchester Business School, England; MBA at Rutgers University, Rutgers Business School, USA; a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture, at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, and an Associate Degree in Agriculture from CASE, Jamaica.
